Yes this is 62-65 related in a way. I can't believe the lousy luck I have been having lately with parts and tools. Getting good at not losing receipts so I can return them,
Bought a set of cool ,old school five spoke mags. paid100 bucks, then found they wouldn't fit the Coronet because they were made for 7/16 studs. So I had to take them to a shop to have them drilled for 1/2 inch studs. Had to be done properly and indexed correctly. 270 bucks. Had used tires mounted on them , 80 bucks. Then found three of the 4 were actually leaking through the rim. Little micro-cracks. Junk. Into the trash they went. 100 dollar rims, now cost 450 and they didnt work at all. IMPORTANT LESSON- I will never buy used rims again. Bought all new Torq-thrust Original spokes new from summit 600 dollars.
Also had to return a "new" distributor. A timing light, a maglite flashlight, a pack of AA "10 year " batteries, a soldering iron and a continuity tester. Junk.
Soldering iron went poof in about 5 minutes.
Getting really tired of this.
I pine for the days in the 70s when I was a kid, accompanying my father to different shops that actually fixed things, like TVs, radios, alternators , etc.
I have a big box fan that just died. In my family since about 1972. Pushed tons of air and just gave up the ghost at age 50 . That's 50 years!! Seriously considering seeing if I can find a replacement motor for it and rebuilding it.
Sorry , I guess I need therapy.
