It's interesting...
For the '64 models the A833 was listed in the brochure as being available for 383 and 426 models only with just the 2.66, 1.91 and 1.39:1 indirect ratios. Yet in the 'Stylebook', which was a document for the Engineering Department itemising and describing changes or developments in the cars, it states clearly that the 4-speed transmission was available for all V8 models.
I'm fairly confident that the '64 models weren't finished before the 3.09:1 first gear version of the A833 was fitted to 6-cylinder cars.

Thanks Ray. That seems correct. I looked it up and the 1963 V8 T-10 gear ratio options were:
2.54 to 1
1.92 to 1
1.5 to 1
1 to 1
Optional T-10 ratios were available to order for a 361 or 383
2.20 to 1
1.66 to 1
1.31 to 1
1 to 1
There were no gear ratio numbers given for a Max Wedge so I assume T-10 was not available as a transmission option for that V8. By the way, I did not see the T-10 as an option behind a Slant 6 engine but did not look deeper.
Thanks,
Gary H.
