Now,I wonder if when I phone up Comp cams and order a "3/4 race cam" for my
273,will they send me the cam that I want?...I doubt it! You also may have
noticed, I specifically started a new section titled "Editorial"...that
means its my opinion,and ,as far as I'm concerned,I am the leading authority
ON MY OPINION.So,if calling me rude makes you feel better,fine,but when
someone asks me what cam is in my engine,I respond with the lift and
duration figures for it. If thats over their head,then I guess we need not
talk about head porting,rear gears and other technical things on the car.

    ...and,by the way,this is just my opinion too!!

ignorance aside, to belittle some one who doesn't know a .590
lift from a .484 is nothing short of rude.(thats full race to 3/4).
if these guys really want to talk about duration they will ask
about duration.
i am also old enough to remember 1/2, 3/4, full race as the cam
description, and it is still the answer 90% of the people asking
will understand.

i am planning on a 1 &1/8 cam for my next engine project.
The end conclusion is nobody really seems to know, I am as stuck as i
was in 1979 when i first heard the term
