I was thinking about the solid link between the carbs and that would be fine except for tuning and setting the idle. Obviously you'd have to keep the two carbs independent to set the idle 'cause if you didn't, when you adjusted one it'd just change the other too. 

Remember the "Uni-Syn"  multiple carb adjuster? They were for 2 barrel's and sat atop measuring vacuum through the carb inlet. I was wondering if it'd be possible to make a vacuum comparison device  that would look kinda like a line level but would be a sealed tube with a ball inside and a hook up for vacuum lines on each end. Then you could adjust the carbs for equal vacuum by hooking on the full time vacuum port of each carb and adjusting to center the ball in the tube. The lines would have to be the same length too of course. I was thinking of just getting an extra vacuum gauge and putting one on each carb and adjusting the vacuum to equal readings as a way of balancing the carbs. Just a thought.
