the worst thing that would happen is, you may need to 
put a drop-base air cleaner on. i think it works without a problem.
single plane is an open plenum feeding all eight ports
while a dual plane flows through more of a "channel"
separating the ports the fuel/air mixture goes to.
 
for what it is worth, i think the rpm performer is as tall as 
a single plane M1.
the victor is is about 1-1/2 inches taller than the M1
 
i can send a picture of my engine with the victor if anyone
is interested.
