you are safe 
as long as the hold downs are solid, like a long bolt and nut, you
can't use a j-bolt. you also need a solid plate to cover the space between
the seat and the trunk. a friend has painted plywood and has never been
questioned, i have a piece of sheet-metal in mine. and of course a shut off.
