There is such a thing as an aluminum heater core, and they're quite succeptible to leaks from eletrolysis issues. What you've got is probably an oil cooler OR a power steering cooler (didn't Mopar put P/S coolers on the 300's?).

i have a feeling its not that, or not any heater core i have seen, its
aluminum for one.every heater core i have seen is brass.
    aluminum conducts heat well so i guess it will work as a trans
    cooler, just wondered about the huge tubes as all tranny coolers i
    have seen have small tubes. i guess it will give me an extra quart
    capacity of trans fluid in the deal too.
