I had the same concerns on my 64 Plymouth. I contacted Gary P and he assured
me that these work just fine. 
 I test fitted the lifters and they fit the bores fine. They should be OK..

I noticed that the new lifters I got have about a 1/4" groove around them
towards the middle of the lifter. My old ones we removed were solid all the
way down. What's the deal there? I wonder if they lightened them up by
making the grove or improved oil flow or????
