i have a fluiddampener on mine, it requires different pulleys,
the only pulleys i have found to fit this are march, be ready
to open your wallet.
i have seen the dampener you mentioned, thought it was 
supposed to take stock pulleys.
 
the hole in the waterpump is a different subject.
i know people who plug them, swearing there car runs
cooler.
i had a chunk of something blocking mine once, the car
was getting hot, so i took the thermostat out to test it.
i noticed the chunk of metal (a piece of casting?) sitting
in the hole, removed it and the car runs cool (as it did before)
proof, that blocking it won't help mine run cooler.

Another question - looking down the thermostat neck, into the housing, is a 
1/4" or so threaded hole. My cast iron housings also have this. Is this a 
bypass of some type, or should it be plugged? Again with the Joe....;-D
