The timing is set dead 0, while the spring I actually had to go harder because in power mode the secondaries opened too early giving me a kick in the but several seconds after I hit it. I believe some one else *I still have your email just your name has slipped my mind at the moment* enlightened me that anything under a 68 jet is too small for the 750. I originally had 72s with out the bog, but it ran richer than hell. The bog happened after I jetted down to 63s, which was what I had laying around in another carb. So I actually need to go buy new jets. As for the gap on the acc pump, I usually don't worry too much about it, I just make sure that there is a good, visual gap where you can grab it and wiggle it, that usually does the job. As for the lever, we'll find out. Thanks! ----- Original Message ----- From: tom hecht Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2005 6:49 PM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Holley tune up. It ran richer than hell before, and had a bog (by the way, I had recently jetted from 72 to 63). After the rebuild, It still ran richer than hell, with a bog. I found one problem, the accelerator pump lever had no gap what so ever (oops, shoulda checked that). So I fixed that and now its not running so rich any more (before people wouldn't even tailgate me, not that that's a bad thing lol). But it still bogs in the low rpms and occasionally coughs, also, coasting against the motor brings a pretty ripe rich smell. I've checked for vacuum leaks by vacuum gauge, and poured some water around the intake manifold and listened for the motor to bog. I haven't found any vacuum or intake leaks. Any suggestions?
