I would highly recommend anyone who is putting in a new
cam, or starting a new motor for the first time to go their
local Chevy or Gm dealer and picking up a quart of EOS.
Engine Oil Supplement. It puts the zinc back into the oil that
the EPA made them take out for smog reasons years ago.
It will do wonders for cam break in. In fact, I never do it,
and have never flattened a cam. The trick here is to get the
lifters rotating as soon as possible. If your lifters, and bores
are right, ( I prefer undersize lifters ) then things will go very
smooth. Lots of cam lube, and some EOS, and she will be good
to go.

I just put l Lunati Voodoo cam in my 383, my buds say i have to run the
engine at about 2000rpm for 20 minutes for break-in. Is this
correct??????????
