Menko,
A better discription and better info will not be found. just excellant.
Lots of engines now survive without any problem. J heads and 452 and 346s do not need seats anyway.
Anyone done this recently?
I do it all the time in the shop.
about $10 per exhaust seat plus the hardened seats. We usually do 906s that we know will be abused.
For a daily driver it is as Menko said not a realistic worry .
If you had the engine apart though and were doing the 906 heads it might be a good idea . Doing 452s and 346s though is pure waste. They are already treated (hardened)at the factory and work well (even when 181s are installed)
