Would I replace a solid or hydraulic with a roller? for the street. No I wouldnt personannly. There are cams that will produce more power than you can ever use on the street now, with the one mentioned by von hench being among the very best. However there has been recently an ad running for some cam company, I think crane if memory serves me for a retrofit hydraulic roller. for or b/rb moptors and if you must have a roller on the street then that would be worth as second look.
I have used rollers in Chev applications (B Bchevies because these engines love to eat cams . I have a good friend who has lost three cams in the same BB chev engine over the last 6 years and he asked me how to cure it. I said with a thousand Dollars and a bit of work we could install a Hyd roller. To be honest it works good and solved his problem however it is a lot of gold to me.
