My thanks to Earl and Brain Schlump. I'd rather not be the pioneer with stuff like this. This list is a great asset.

Loctite has a great gas tank two part epoxy sealer also..

Greg,
My wife has a '55 Street rodded pick-up truck that has an aftermarket
sending unit that was leaking. Two years ago I sealed it with JB Weld, and
it hasn't leaked since...Brian

The ongoing pursuit of getting my Cuda on the road has hit another small

snag. I got my leaking tank cleaned & repaired, found a new gasket and screen for the sending unit and apparently succeeded in 'damaging' the solder joint where the line feeds through the sending unit in the R&R process. :-(

The gasket seals and the solder joint seeps - NG, so ...

Who has tried the 'cold solder' I see advertised? Is it at all feasible

to siphon the fuel off enough to dry the joint out and "fix" this on the

car? The not lazy approach is to install a new sending unit, but I am still under time pressure.

Anyone?

p.s., The beast lives. It now runs fine, but it would be more fun with fewer leaks.
