Neal, I had a 66 GTO once with a 396 Chevy in it...changed out points, 
plugs, wires, cap, forgot to swap condenser. Started the car and it ran 
so bad it backfired and blew a header muffler clear off the car! Put a 
new condenser in and that solved the problem. Never had an easy fix like 
that since...you probably won't either!
