I did my 65 Barracuda years ago.  There was no bow where you describe. 
 
However, my install was less than perfect, resulting in a trip to a trim shop.  They charged my $100 to install properly (bargain).  Their work reduced to reheating the headliner material and stretching it tighter.  The upshot is that the car now has vertical slits that I cut for the interior lights now showing on either side, because the trim shop had to pull the material downward to take out the slack that I left.  
 
Bottom line: find someone else's baby to practice on, heat well and stretch tight the 1st time.

Hello again

Try one more time to see if somebody can help me. Have started to place a headliner in my 1963 Fury. What I have problem is to make it fit on the side off the pillar beetween the rear window and the quarter windows. There where no headliner in my car when I bought it only the bows lay in the trunk. So I´m not sure if some parts missing. Once again should there be something beetween the headliner and the pillar. Does somebody have a car where there is possible to take a picture to see how it looks like. If so, you can e-mail it to my home e-mail adress.
