I just got a quick question concerning my 383's valley pan. When I installed the one that was provided with my engine after being rebuilt, when setting it in place, I found that it sat on the heads and left almost half inch gaps at the front and back where the support strips are bolted. Now what I'm thinking is the twits at the shop gave me a RB 440 valley pan and not a 383. Even though I made it fit, the engine has ALWAYS run like it was shitting bricks, turns out I have half the vacuum that I should. I just wanted to make sure that this part should just slide right in and fit perfectly. Thanks!Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com
