First thing to do (IMHO) is find what you've got...If a normal rebuild is possible then a machinist/engine builder should check bores for wear/tear and advise what is needed to get correct. This could be as simple as nothing to boreing/honing for oversize pistons and all the related things that go with such things...also the crank should be checked for wear/tear...perhaps more machineing is required to fix. (oversize bearing , etc.) . Your second question (IMHO) depends on what you're trying to create... A complete restored to factory specs Imperial is one thing...a nice "cruiser/driver" is something else... The stock 413 engine was and is a powerful, dependable large car propeller.../ Bob Fortson - Limos4us@xxxxxxx wrote: > Your free subscription is supported by today's > sponsor: > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Is your computer freezing up or slowing down? > Repair corrupt files and harmful errors - protect > your PC > Take a 2-minute PC health check-up at no charge! > caadVJEbQmH9Ma/PC > PowerScan > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > Hey Bob, > Thanks......I had given more thought since yesterday > and figured if I was > going to put the Imperial on the road...might as > well rebuild it. > Who would you recommend to get the basics...rod and > main bearings, rings > that kind of stuff and would you add anything to the > motor, like upgrade of some > sort. > Thanks again > David > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > Your free subscription is supported by today's > sponsor: > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Are you a lottery player?Play smarter!
