While drooling over the forged rods (again) at _www.440source.com_
(http://www.440source.com) , I found a bare block and caps for sale that were listed as
"extra heavy duty" 413/426 block with a standard bore. The casting number
is 2658836. There is a photo showing the heavy external ribbing, and the
casting number comes back as "commercial" In the narrative they say these blocks
were cast using 440 water jacket molds, but with a 413 bore. I guess this
is supposed to have thick(er) cylinder walls? They want 194.95. Is this block
that much better than other 413/426 blocks? I never saw one before, but it
sure looks stout. Joe
