   Hi Sean , I would have to say that running a higher octane fuel will make the engine run a bit richer and somewhat less efficient on a low compression (9 to 1 or less) carbureted eng. On a fuel injected engine the ecu should control the mixture so it would be less of a problem but in either case the higher octane fuel is probably not needed or desired. It may mask some timing or other issues but really doesn't help performance. Good money thrown away....Mike
