RE: 1964 Chrysler tilt? T or F

I once owned 2 1967 Chrysler Newport convertibles that were identicle 
except for the color. Neither one had a tilt column but they both needed 
turn signal awitches. When I went to the dealer to get new switches the 
parts man asked me if the switch was white or red. He told me there was 
a strike in 1967 and Chrysler ran out steering columns and bought a 
bunch of columns from Saginaw at GM. Sure enough one of my cars had a 
white switch and the other one had a red switch, If I remember right the 
one with the red switch was the GM column.
