Re: max wedge hood

I've been going through exactly the same thing. I talked to the folks at sled city and a fiberglass plus. The sled city hood is pin on only. The fiberglass plus hood is hingeable, but has no inner bracing. By the time you buy either, you will have well over $500.00 including shipping. I just bought a stock hood (for $50.00) that I am going to strip and then put the '65 hemi type scoop on. That way I will not be cutting my original. Now I need to find a base for my six pack that will seal against the hood like the '68 '69 cars.

Subject: max wedge hood

Hi folks,

I borrowed an old max wedge scoop from a friend to see what it would look like on my '65 Coronet, and now I have to get one. I don't really want to cut my hood, so I'm interested in going the fiberglass hood route. Does anyone make a complete hood with the (functional) max wedge style scoop for a '65?

Could I still use the stock hood hinges or are they too strong for fiberglass? I'd go with hood pins up front but are there any other mods I'd need?

Thanks,
Mike O
