Jim,

8.75 axles are a dime a dozen... Original A body housings are
a bit hard to locate, but you don't need one. They go for crazy
amounts. An early B body is an easy swap, just one inch wider.
Just use more off set on your rims.

You can find any 8.75 housing and have it cut down to A body
width for not to much money. Moser does it for $150.00.
You can even have C body axles cut and re-splined. This is
not a hard as you think.

Everybody, thanks for all of the advice on the rear end choice!
Looks like it's overwhelmingly for the 8.75" but that it may be hard to
find.
Gears should be readily available.

I'll need different shock mounts, u-bolts, axle mounting hdwe. and a new
fabricated driveshaft.
(I will phase-out the ball and trunnion joint while I am at it)

Sounds like money errr.... fun!
