Hey guys, I don't know what all is included in this but for those of you looking for tools you may want to check this out. I got it on another list and the recent messages about tools reminded me of it. John ----- Original Message ----- From: Henry Blair Jr To: mopar_c_body@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 7:18 PM Subject: [mopar_c_body] What may be a great deal on Blackhawk tools. Yesterday, I was at a friend's business who is helping me design some tools I may patent. He mentioned he had just bought about $450,000, retail, of new Blackhawk tools. When I saw them, I could not believe what he had. These are brand new tools that were taken off of the shelves of a major auto parts change when they switched vendors. He has about every wrench you can think of metric and SAE, polished or not, open end, combo, sockets and specialty ratchets and regular ratchets (1/4, 1/2, 3/4), GearWrenches, and many misc Blackhawk tools. All, but the GearWrenches, were made in the USA. There are no tool boxes He asked me to help him sell them for about 50% of their retail value, or less. After some research, I found that these tools are made by the Proto division of Stanley. I know nothing about their reputation, but from the looks, the quality is excellent, probably a step or two above Craftsman, and a step below SnapOn. My friend is Internet ignorant, but thought this would be a good way to quickly, over the next year, sell this inventory. I suggested that the quickest way might be individual tools and sets on eBay, and then bulk lots on eBay to clean off the shelves. Here are my questions: 1.. Are Blackhawk tools professional quality tools that are in demand? 2.. We are thinking of making up some big sets to sell for Christmas gifts that would include complete combo wrench sets, GearWrench sets, socket sets, etc. SAE and Metric. Do you think this would be a good idea? 3.. Would jobber pricing, about 40% of retail, plus 10%, or about 45% of retail, shipping included, be attractive to most buyers? 4.. Finally, what are some of the tool news groups, or websites, that I could go to to get more information on these tools, and to advertise them? For anyone interested, before I start listing these tools on eBay in a couple of weeks, and the selection will hopefully be reduced, I will offer you all the tools that we have in which you may be interested, just send me the Blackhawk part numbers, 45% of retail, shipping included. The Blackhawk website that offers information on their tools is: http://www.stanleyproto.com/default.asp?TYPE=CATEGORY&CATEGORY=Blackhawk Thanks for your help.
