The Sport Fury and Monaco models were built in Canada for the 1965 model year. But they were variations on the Fury III and Polara 880 and were not given unique serial number prefixes or model numbers, Which is why they are not mentioned in the front section of the Canadian 1965 parts catalogue. But, go to section 23, Body Section, and page 23-169. Note the heading : 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury AP1,2 -H (Special) 2 door Hardtop (CANADIAN BUILT) And on page 23-173 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury AP1,2 -H (Special) convertible coupe (CAN. BUILT) And for the Dodge Monaco - page 23-317 : 1965 Dodge Monaco AD1,2 -H (Special) 2 door Hardtop (CANADIAN BUILT) and page 23-223 : 1965 Dodge Monaco AD1,2 -H (Special) convertible coupe (CANADIAN BUILT) All Canadian-built 1965 Chrysler cars had that 11-digit serial number. All American-built Chrysler products used the 10-digit serial number, and that includes cars built in the U.S. for the Canadian market, such as the Chrysler 300-L, Newport and New Yorker wagons, Chrysler 300 convertible and all Imperials. The information on page INF-2 of the Canadian parts catalogue is incorrect as far as American-built cars are concerned. Clint, First let me apologize, it was 3:00am when I wrote that e-mail. In 1965 we could not get any B Bodies in Canada. The 65 Sport Fury is a C Body and was available in Canada but built in the US. The Canadian cars had an 11 digit serial number and the US cars had a 10 digit number. I am getting my info from a number of books, The Chrysler Chronicle, The Plymouth history book, the Standard catalogue of American cars, and the original Chrysler parts manuals of which I have Almost all of from the mid 40's to 69 and then some truck manuals from the 70's. When the Chrysler dealership sold here they auctioned off all of the manuals and we bought most of them. We also have numerous other reference books that we have collected over the last 35 years of working on these cars. If you can get the serial number from the car I can tell you what it is and where it was built. I also need to know whether it is a 2 dr, 4 dr etc. to give you an idea of how many were made. The 318 is a wide block poly head engine. It is not a big block. They are not the same. There are no 318 big blocks. hope that helps you.
