Re: Racer brown cam

Think yourselves lucky guys!
A friend of mine here with a 68 Charger has just fitted a full TTI system on his car and paid £600 for the headers. That's $1175 at todays rate, including all shipping, tax & duty etc. From the headers back to the tips was the same cost too I think. Another friend over here has just got some Doug's Headers - he says they are supposed to work & fit as well as the TTI's but hasn't tried them in the car yet. They were 75% the cost of the TTI's. Both the TTI & Dougs had been (factory) dented to miss no.5 (& maybe another) spark plug. Not very good considering the cost.......

Look, I know you said your even more confused, when
ppl started talking about header sizes and what not.
to be honest if you decide to use headers, call TTI
and tell them all about your engine. what heads your
running, ported or not, what they flow, 1:5 or 1:6
rocker ratio, over bore, torque converter, cam
specs.....the whole deal. those folks have their stuff
together and will tell you exactly what you need. dont
make the "bigger is always better" mistake, or go too
small for that matter. but be prepared to break out
your wallet, they aint cheap. or just bolt on your
manifolds and drive the dern thang....till you can
upgrade later. Sean

Sean,

I mean stock exhaust manifolds. Sorry, all us old

stock headers.

It is a generation thing <;-)

Earl,

What are "stock headers"? Do you mean the late
'60's Magnum manifolds?
If so, how did THEY compare to "real headers"?

Thanks,
