I'm getting ready to buy a new Hurst box for my 64 Polara with 833 because my current one is a little sloppy. I have a 71-74 B-body pistol grip shift handle on it. What I'd like to know is if anyone has ever redrilled the whols in the transmission arms closer together to shorten the shifter throw? Right now it's just short of hitting the blower switch and I'd like a little closer pattern, if possible. I tried to redrill one of the arms last year, but they're harder than diamonds. My other option is buying a box with longer levers on the bottom. Any of you guys ever had any experience doing this mod?
