Yesterday was a little warmer than the day before. So I managed to get
the 63 started. I changed the jetting because I had made a radical rear
end gearing change from .430's to .276's. I wanted to be able to do a
little cruising. So it was running extremely rich. It ran really
poorly when it started so I changed the plugs which as you can imagine
were badly fouled, and it ran beautifully. I went from a primary jet w/
a dia. of .110 to .108 with larger dia. metering rods and that seemed to
be about right. I still get a little cloud of brownish smoke when I get
into it but it's much better than the huge cloud of black smoke I used
to get.
Took it for an easy drive of @ 20 miles. I'll pull a spark plug and see
what it shows to see if I need to make another adjustment. Felt good to
have it out from under the cover and back on the road.
