RE: Bad day today

Bob, The real problem is that today's gas is formulated for new cars
which all have closed pressurized fuel systems. I had the same problem
you have on a 66 Hemi Charger I owned. The only way I could get the car
restarted was to remove the air cleaner and spray flamable carb cleaner
down the back carb. I finally solved the problem by installing an inline
electric fuel pump back by the tank with a switch on the dash. I didn't
use it all the time, just when I was having a problem. Starting in 68
Mopar used a special combination fuel filter/vapor seperator on the
Hemi's and 440's. They mounted down by the fuel pump and had an extra
fitting for running a 1/4" return line back to the tank. These are still
avaialable, I have an article here somewhere on instaling one.
