RE: Heater repair part



It goes in the end of the water control valve and holds the little 
plunger that controls how much water is let into the heater core. You 
have to unfold the tabs that hold the temperature control onto the pipe 
and remove it...the seal sits under that. I had to remove mine when I 
welded the hole shut and broke 2 of the mounting tabs off, so be gentle 
with them.
