I had the folks at Dynamic Converters (Lupo's) build a 904 for my 340 project (in a 65 Dart wagon) and Sean recommended Dextron III.

I'd recommend Dexron/Mercon III. Its your choice since everything is dry, and many will tell you Type F will give firmer shifts because of its frictive properties. Dexron is the closest to what came in there originally.The most important thing is that you not mix different types.
