I have a 3 core radiator... 60 amp alternator and a sandon air compressor in my 1962 Dodge dart Wagon. The AC worked fine until I drove it in a parade; that's when my car overheated. My car has never been the same since and tends to run on the low to mid end of the hot side no matter what kind of driving I do, except: my car tends to run to the higher side of hot even faster if I am in stopped traffic at a red light or slow traffic on a busy day. I don't know why this is...even though I had the thermostat replaced. My mechanic says an electric fan installed would help prevent this problem. It's funny, because I never had this problem until after my car overheated that one time. Any suggestions as to what kind of fan or whatever I should put in it to prevent it from running hot or overheating? Also, what if I want to drive it in a parade ever again? I live in NY, and the temps have been as high as 101 degrees in summer...but this is short lived and not the norm. I usually do not use the AC, 1. because of the problem with my car running hot...and, 2. because...it never really cools enough to make too much of a difference. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. Susan ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
