That is exactly what I did with my radiator fan. I ran it through a red toggle switch that gives off a red light when on. That way I turn it on when I am sitting in traffic and need more cooling and can turn it of when not needed. Bob A.

Why not just put a toggle switch in for the fan? That way you can decide when you need the extra cooling. Once we ran a windshield washer hose in front of the radiator to squirt water on it if it started getting hot.
