Re: What's a good-sounding 273 exhaust?

PO put duals on my 65 Barracuda and it sounds nice, but not as nice as the Formula S exhaust IMHO. After I get the 66 273/235 horse motor I got off eBay rebuilt, a FS exhaust WILL go in. Main problem with putting dual exhaust on early A Bodies is the passenger side hangs a lot lower than the driver's side as there's no provision in the transmisison support on the pass side as is on the driver's side. Easily remedied with a cut-off wheel and welder to modify yours or buy one from Layson's at an exorbitant price (NOT!).

That looks intriguing. I need to hear one running. I was surprised it wasn't a dual exhaust. Would it be unnecessary to have a dual system? Would dual pipes drop back pressure too much?

thanks
Jim

Accurate is reproducing the complete Formula S exhaust system.

I agree that is one cool sounding exhaust! It's a single pipe exhaust
but the pipe is pretty big if I recall right, 3" maybe?

Someone was reproducing the "S" muffler last I looked, but not the
resonator tip at the end of the pipe. Is that available now too?

Thanks,
Gary H.
