RE: broken speedometer

Derek

We had, or rather still have, the same problem with our speedo/cable. As
has already been suggested, we disconnected and lubed ours along its
entire length with Vaseline and it seemed to work for the first 10 miles
or so, but soon after the needle started jumping around and squealing
again.
We got our trans shifter cable re-made as it got burnt through, so we
sent the speedo cable off to the same company (over here in the UK) for
checking at the same time. They said they could find nothing wrong with
it so we now think it must be the speedo itself.
We've now bought a spare instument cluster and are now going to have it
checked/rebuilt/restored by Autoinstruments. Hopefully that will cure
the problem! (for now tho, we've cured it by disconnecting it!)

Good luck with yours.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
