I think the term "street use" has different meanings to people.  I  have a 
1970 .040 over 460, 10 to 1 with a 217 degree (@ .050") cam in a  1976 Ferd 4x4 
p/u.  Never seen 5,000 rpm. Have had both a 750 and 600  Eddy carbs on it.  
Saw no difference between the two.  Put the 600  back on.  Has the performer 
intake and cruises the logging roads all day,  hauls parts and firewood.  Great 
low end power.   BTW - both  carbs got 11mpg.  I have 1000 cfm on the 451 that 
has the 237* cam, and  will see 6,200. This is also for street use, just at a 
higher rate!!    Joe
