I also saw that show. It was believable based on the fact
that I have owned and built everyone of those motors over
the years, except the 421 Poncho, until they got to the hemi.
I have been messing with hemis for years, put my first 392 in
a 54 vett in 1962 when I got out of the Air Force. I will never
believe that a stock street hemi put out 820HP.

Remember the hemi engine build off's Mopar mag had. Very
few engine builders got close to that figure with all modern
parts. It just does not ring true in my book.

Here is the link to a street hemi dyno test by Chrysler.
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/hemi/dyno-test.html
463 corrected horsepower with 405 flb of torque.

The guy who did the reporting or the guy who did the
dyno test needs to just walk away from the crack pipe.

Robert,
Sounds like he said they put just the motors on a dyno. Probably not any
rear wheels involved.

820?!
That cant be right?!
I'd have thought more like 320 at the wheels if it's stock. Most, if not
all articles I've seen where they've tested a 'stock' musclecar (especially
hemi's) have shown the actual rwhp to be way down from the advertised hp.

Regardless of what they said, I'm jealous that you get any tv shows that
would show such a test!
