I installed a right hand mirror on my 63 Fury convert. As Bill shows it was avaialable at least as a dealer installed option. I wasn't aware though that the early mirror didn't have the pentastar embosed on it. The only ones I've seen without the pentastar are the reproductions. I know that they didn't start putting the pentastar on the right fender until later in 63. Maybe Bill can answer this one for me, I'm always amazed by his knowledge. Back when I had my 66 Hemi Charger (they used this same twin post mirror thru 1966) I discovered there are 2 different heads installed on these mirrors. The more common one has a beveled edge and a smaller glass. The other one does not have a belveled edge and a larger glass. Both mirrors have tha same 2 post base and the same part number cast in the base. I've seen both mirrors on A bodies and B bodies of all different years. The only reason we could think of for the 2 different heads was that maybe Chrysler got them from 2 different suppliers????? Dan > > Bill Watson wrote: > > Yes there was.
