Disappointing Discovery / ID'ing a Poly

I was poking around under my Coronet this weekend, just looking around
and checking things out when I looked up @ the front of my engine and
saw a small 'clean" spot and asked myself the rhetorical question..."why
the hell is my block blue and everything else bolted to it is red?
S%!T!" It's obvious someone put a motor or at least a short block in the
car @ some point so my question is...where are the ID numbers on a Poly
motor? And when did they paint Poly motors blue? Is this maybe a truck
or industrial motor? I'm sure this has been brought up before but I
never had a reason to pay attention before now...I was lead to believe
the car was ALL original!!!

Thanks. Any help would be appreciated.
