Hi all; I posted a little while back about a squeal comming from my AVS Carter carb on my '63s 383. Sean B. mentioned carb to intake seal, and thats what it is. I can seal the carb with the thin gasket, but when using the thick fiber gasket I get the leak. I know I used to use the thick gasket all the time on other engines and dont remember having this problem. I put this thing together about 25 years ago so I dont remember the reason for the thick gasket, although the linkages and such do seam to line up better with the extra height. This is a '69 383, cast iron intake and '69 Carter AVS. Just put a kit in the carb, and now cant get the carb to seal. I'm looking for ideas on succesfully sealing, or do I need the thick gasket, or is there a better spacer combo?
