Re: slimy heater hoses

Sean, I've noticed the same thing happens on my cars when I have them stored in a cold garage for the winter. I'm not sure what it is, antifreeze, condensation, oils seeping out of the hoses????? It all disappears once I start driving them again. I get it on the radiator hoses sometimes too.

Subject: slimy heater hoses

My car has been sitting for a few months, and both heater hoses are very
shiny and slick. It is like I completely covered them with oil. It
rubs off on my fingers when I touch it--it might be antifreeze, I can't
tell. Both hoses were put on new this past fall, and I never put
anything on them, such as Armor All, etc. What is causing this? The
radiator hoses are fine.

Thanks,

Sean
