I have seen early B body new gas tanks on Ebay for $130.00.  If Quanta tanks are that expensive, their prices have increased.  However, Quanta tanks are excellent quailty. I have installed them in my 64 Plymouths and love it. I also changed to a 3/8" sending unit & gas lines. 
  Some people have good luck rpairing an old tank, but I haven't. I'd rather spend a few bucks extra & have the piece of mind !!!!
