RE: paint color behind the grille and headlamps?

There may not be a concensus about the paint colour behind the grille.

My b-bodies (Canadian) do not have black out type paint behind the 
grille.  The front portion of the rad support and fenders behind the 
headlights are body colour.

I have heard that may depend on body colour but my 64 440 is sky blue 
without black paint in there.

It seems to me that Doug Baker and I did an unofficial survey at 
Moparfest one year and ended up with a "Non conclusive" conclusion.

It may be factory related too.

Bill Watson will know.

You can also check with the members photos and see what car matches 
yours to see what was done.  Then, suit yourself.
