Well they missed both of my cars.
64 medium blue 4D Belvedere, body color.
65 gold Belvedere convertible, body color.
I even think both of my spare 65 4D Belvederes are body color too.

I read this in a book years ago.  Sometime in the early 1960's, some 
Chrysler designers felt that the body color showing through the grille 
took away from the intended "look" of the front end.  Some salesmen were 
complaining, too.  The fix they came up with explains the sloppy 
application of the black paint.  They inserted a worker in the line who 
shot a quick blast of black from under the car, thus the messy, uneven 
paint.  In this way the assembly line was not slowed down at all.
