Lack of Spark

I have been having an intermitent problem where the engine just dies as
if the ignition is turned off. Usually it will start right up usually
without me even stopping. Today however, it would not. Checked and had
no spark from main coil wire to distributor for the first 2 times I
turned it over to try to diagnose what was going on. Then magically
spark on the third try. Reconnected main coil wire and ran fine to get
it home. End of season last year I replaced coil, condensor, points,
ballast resistor, ignition switch. Ran fine from July to the end of the
season. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any advice.
