(throttle cables...used to be ) RE: Still a few issues but running

I'm really interested in the discussion about throttle cables. Mine broke
on my 64 Sport Fury. I was able to find another one, used, for my car, got
if from Jeff Carter at JC Auto, but would like to know how you all install
other cables than oem? Are you able to somehow put a guide on a generic
cable that protects the cable from the firewall, where the cable goes
through the firewall?
Thanks/ Butch/ Ferndale, WA

I got LeRoar back together today and running. I had a gas line leak this
morning and thankfully I was able to find the fittings I needed to get it
fixed right. I have also moved the gas line farther from the headers and I
put a piece of 3/4" Alflex over the flex line to protect it from both heat
and abrasion. It looks like an electrician has been working on my car :-)

I took it for a drive and the darn throttle is sticking on me. That can be a
problem. I found that the cable type throttle had worn thru the firewall
fitting and is dragging there for one spot. I need to get serious with this
and fix it right. I think it'll be fine for the dyno-tune and he may have a
cable we can use to replace mine. Everything is closed till then so I don't
have a choice.

Happy Memorial Day to all.
