Rebuilding my Suspension and Steering

I am close to pulling the trigger on a full rebuild kit for my Valiant's front suspension and steering linkage.

I considered the vendors on 62-65 site, but they were expensive!

I am down to Espo and Just Suspension right now. Espo claims that some other vendors give you chinese ball joints to lower their kit's prices. Any knowledge of this?
Also, I wonder why the Poly Graphite bushings aren't available for the lower control arms...

Anyway, can somebody tell me how to remove the strut rod from the lower control arm? I haven't taken too close a look at this joint yet, but the parts are out of the car.

The torsion I pulled out is rusty at some points along its length, so I plan to sand that smooth and shoot some kind of tough paint. Maybe I'll clean the control arms and spindles up enough to paint them, too. It sure would help my morale if I looked under the car and saw paint instead of grunge.

Are the heavy duty tie rod kits worth it for a street car??
If anyone has any advice or warnings here, I'd appreciate it.

Right now, the Valiant is up on jack stands and I am really enjoying dismantling the suspension. I am really looking forward to hitting the road with a solid front end in the next month or so.

thanks
