Yes there's a button on the switch to remove the shaft Jeff and you should be able to reach it from under the dash. One plus you might find with the newer NAPA replacement switch is the parking lights may stay on with the headlights. The 65 Barracuda was the first American car to to do that and I've been told that feature was built into the headlight switch. I always do that to my older Mopars anyway by rewiring the parking light wire into the taillight wire. Try NAPA part # HL6571.
