I recently posted a question about the steering coupler as I needed to replace the seal on mine. I bought the kit that is specified in the tech section article. My coupler is still nice and tight so I didn't replace anything but the seal. The outer dimension of the seal is slightly large but with a little careful manipulation and a good amount of lubrication on the steering shaft to make the seal slide somewhat freely, I was able to get everything in place. As I recall the original post in this thread was complaining about loose steering and that tie rods, ball joints, etc. were all in good condition. That leaves only the coupler or steering gear as culprits. It should be easy to check to see where the play is with the help of an assistant. And there is an adjustment on the steering gear if that is a little loose. Otherwise could it be that the car in question doesn't have a front sway bar? Paul L.
