RE: Starter trouble?



Rich is probably right. The tranny is fairly easy to adjust. It takes two
people, one holding the reverse button down firmly the whole time and the
second adjusting cable. Remove the hold down bolt and back the wheel off
counter clock wise several turns. Holding the cable into the hole bottomed
on the reverse detent turn the wheel clock wise till it contacts the tranny
squarely. Going clock wise turn the wheel to the closest hole aligning with
the lock bolt hole. Using this hole as #1 rotate the wheel clock wise to
hole #5 install the lock bolt and snug it down. The cable should be right on
the money. And the neutral switch should work correctly also!

Gee I should've thought of that 'cause mine did it constantly until I 
Got the Trans adjusted right. I had to put it in R, then back to N and 
It would start. Kind of a poor man's antitheft device for nonMopar 
Thieves. My old time Mopar alignment man knew all about it though.
